MUSCAT, OCT 15

Masin AI has launched an artificial intelligence platform for construction contracts and claims in Oman, aiming to help project owners, contractors and consultants identify delay risks, meet notice deadlines and prepare claims for human review.

The company said the platform supports contracts based on Oman’s standard conditions within the framework of Omani law. It is being used on live projects by major contractors in Oman and construction and infrastructure organisations in India, it said.

The system analyses project documents against the signed contract and updates its assessments as new records arrive. A dashboard flags potential delays, notice requirements, claim opportunities and compliance issues, linking findings to supporting documents and tracking deadlines.

Masin AI said the platform addresses a challenge on large projects, where thousands of letters, emails, notices and reports can make it difficult for contracts teams to identify issues promptly.

Missed notices can affect contractual entitlements, while reconstructing claims months later can require extensive reviews of project records.

An email module examines correspondence for contractual implications, including instructions that could trigger notice periods. It drafts replies with references to contract clauses for approval by a contract manager, but does not send them independently.

Other modules use progress reports to track schedule and cost performance. Delay and financial analysis tools draw on project programmes and cost records to assess responsibility for delays and their monetary impact, the company said.

On its own benchmark, Masin AI said a claim report that previously required three people working for 18 days could be produced in two days with a single reviewer.

The platform was developed with input from more than 250 claims consultants, planners, contract engineers and construction lawyers, drawing on records from over 1,000 projects across 40 countries, the company said.

It said the system was trained on FIDIC and NEC construction contract forms and the Society of Construction Law’s Delay and Disruption Protocol. Findings include references to source documents and page numbers to support checks by project teams.

Customer data is encrypted, access is audited and uploaded documents are not used to train the models, the company added.

The launch comes as Oman pursues construction and infrastructure development under Vision 2040. Masin AI said its platform would allow contracts teams to identify emerging issues and decide how to respond earlier, reducing reliance on retrospective claims preparation.

“The documents already hold the answers,” the company said.
